Since its inception, Ultraplane Haulage has placed a firm emphasis on safety and compliance. It therefore has great pleasure in announcing its success in achieving FORS Bronze accreditation for its Doncaster branch. Transport Manager Paul May expressed his delight at the news;
‘It has come from a lot of hard work but it’s definitely been worth it. Since Ultraplane started up we’ve been working to keep it in a state of perpetual progression and this is undoubtedly the next rung of the ladder. To everyone, FORS Bronze is a statement that underlines you as a safe and compliant haulage company and that’s exactly what we are.’
Bronze accreditation confirms that an operator employs good practices and complies with the requirements laid out by the FORS Standard. This includes demonstrating dedication to driver and vehicle safety, combined with improving working practices and procedures, as well as looking at the policies the company has in place. Paul elaborates on just how much work this has involved;
‘We had most of the requirements in place at the branch beforehand, but preparing for the audit can be very time-consuming in itself. I know a number of people who have found the prospect of an assessment, alongside running a business full-time to be a daunting one. For us though, it was a necessity because it helps us get to where we need to be.’
With the award added to Ultraplane’s growing list of accreditations the future looks bright for the company. Paul emphasises exactly why;
‘In the construction trade, a business thrives or perishes according to its reputation. We’ve built our reputation with our existing clients across the years and FORS is an appropriate and efficient way to let prospective clients know that we fulfil the standard. We’ll now be looking towards acquiring the FORS Silver award.’’
